We continue to support children with special needs
Yesterday, thanks to our regular partners and good friends from Zurich Insurance Company, we were able to once again support the Shevchenko children's orphanage house, which is located in the Kupyansky district of Kharkiv region in close proximity to the front line.
From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Shevchenko orphanage, which has 98 pupils with disabilities and physical, intellectual and mental disablements, has suffered a lot of misfortune: until September 2022, the institution was under occupation.
And it was our team of the Emerland Charitable Development Foundation that was the first to respond to help our liberated compatriots, providing the institution with a diesel portable generator (11 kW) in early 2023.
This time, we have provided the orphanage with much-needed technological equipment to set up a backup power supply line from the generator, as the presence or absence of electricity is critical for the treatment and vital needs of the boys and young men.
All of them, for health reasons, need round-the-clock care, household services, medical care, educational services and a range of rehabilitation measures.
We are sincerely glad to have such cooperation and keep on staying in touch!
